Welcome to Early Years at Luttons
“Play is our brain’s favourite way of learning.” – Diane Ackerman
Welcome to the beginning of a wonderful journey! At Luttons Community Primary Academy, our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is a vibrant, nurturing space where our youngest learners begin their foundations of learning and their journey into school life.
We are extremely proud of our bespoke provision for 3 to 4-year-olds. Situated within a purposeful unit with a mix of pupils from Ages 3 to 7, our EYFS children benefit from a unique “family” classroom. This mixed-age setting allows our nursery and reception children to thrive, inspired by older role models while making excellent progress in a safe and stimulating environment.
Why Choose Luttons for Your Child?
-
A “Bespoke” Adventure: Our staff team works hard to plan a curriculum that fosters children’s natural curiosity. Whether we are exploring our local environment or diving into a new story, we ensure every child can learn and apply new skills.
-
Safe & Valued: EYFS is a very special place full of learning, laughter, and friendships. We pride ourselves on providing a calm and inviting environment where children feel happy, safe, and truly valued.
-
Accelerated Progress: We believe that relationships are key. By building strong bonds with our families, we support our 3 and 4-year-olds to settle quickly and make progress across all areas with confidence.
What Does Learning Look Like?
In our Early Years, we whole-heartedly believe in a child-led approach. Every day is a new adventure as we follow the children’s interests, making play purposeful and learning exciting!
-
The Prime Foundations: We focus heavily on the Prime Areas of learning—Communication and Language, PSED, and Physical Development. These are the “roots” that allow our children to grow.
-
Phonics & Maths: Even our formal learning is fun! We deliver short, engaging activities each day that spark a love for numbers and letters.
-
Digital Portfolios: We love sharing the “wow” moments! We record your child’s development on Class Dojo, where we share photos and videos of their learning journey directly with you.
